Brickell is an urban hip neighborhood in Miami, Florida. Brickell has been associated with wealth and prestige, along with Downtown, Brickell is South East Florida's major financial district. Brickell is a high-rise residential neighborhood with many upscale, luxury condominium. Brickell is consider the international banking and business center of Greater Miami, south of the Miami River is taking on a new role as a vibrant place to stay, dine and reside.
Referred to as the "Manhattan of the South". Brickell is home to the largest concentration of international banks in the United States, mostly along Brickell Avenue, Brickell's main north-south avenue and along Miami Avenue, home to many popular Miami restaurants, shops and places of entertainment. A few hundred feet east of the northeastern side of Brickell is Brickell Key, a gated island of upscale, high-rise residential and hotel towers. As of 2009, over 190,000 office employees work in Downtown and Brickell. Today, the Brickell and Downtown Miami neighborhoods are the fastest-growing neighborhoods in Miami.
Brickell Avenue is the name given to the stretch of US 1 in Miami just south of the Miami River. It is one of the main road through the Brickell financial district, and is considered to be one of the most prestigious avenue names, as it is associated with big business, wealth and finances. Miami Avenue and Brickell Bay Drive, west and east of Brickell Avenue respectively are lined mostly with Brickell's high-rise residential towers.
